Ethical Non-Monogamy 101: An Open Discussion

Juli & Jeff Gillies

Ethical Non-Monogamy 101 is an introductory, heart-centered workshop designed to explore consensual relationship diversity through the lenses of awareness, communication, and care. Held in a grounded opening circle, the session begins by creating a safe container with shared agreements and consent-based norms. The facilitators share their personal journey, framing ethical non-monogamy as a form of conscious travel—inviting curiosity, preparation, and respect for boundaries.
Participants are guided through key definitions and styles of ENM (including polyamory, swinging, and lifestyle dynamics), alongside honest conversations about monogamy, cultural conditioning, and consent culture. Through interactive discussion, attendees gain tools for communication, self-knowledge, and embodied consent. Practical topics like jealousy, compersion, safety, and common faux pas are addressed with compassion and humor.

Aligned with the festival’s themes of spiritual awakening, playfulness, healing, and community, this workshop offers a supportive space to explore intimacy consciously, expand relational awareness, and connect authentically with others—whether participants are simply curious or actively navigating non-traditional relationships.
